Our History.......

1970 Dr. Charles D. Moody Sr., planted the seeds that grew to what is now the National Alliance of Black School Educators.

2016 Dr. Desmond Blackburn planted the seeds in Brevard County, Florida. An information meeting was held November of 2016 and the first meeting was held in January of 2017.

The founding members were Dee Ramos, President, Jennifer Dames, Vice President, Sharon Knight, Secretary and Vevea Finerson Treasurer.

January 2022 Brevard ABSE celebrates five years as an organization in Brevard.
Mission Statement
To enhance and facilitate the education and social development of all students in Brevard County, with a particular focus on African-American students.
Membership Opportunities
Individual membership of this alliance shall be opened to any employee or retired employee of the School Board of Brevard County, any employee of local charter schools, or employees of Higher Institutions of learning in Brevard County.
Institutional Membership of this alliance shall be opened to any educational institution in Brevard. Institutional Membership $250 annually. This membership is available to local educational institutions. Benefits include: the opportunity to network with fellow educators, two (2) complimentary Individual Memberships, recognition on BrevardABSE net of support with a link via your home page, Certificate of Institutional Membership, and 20% discount on BrevardABSE paid events.
